Brief Orientation by Sunseekers Tours Staff
Depart for a full day city tour of Accra visiting the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum and Park, final resting place of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. Continue to the National Museum of History and Ethnography.
Lunch at a local restaurant
After lunch, drive past the Independence Arch and Black Star Square - Accra’s ceremonial grounds. View from a distance the Christiansborg Castle which is the official residence of the President of Ghana. Continue to the National Art and Cultural Centre shopping view a varied collection of Ghanaian hand-crafted items on sale. Continue to drive through Old Accra. This is a contrast of Victorian, Dutch and post-colonial architectures. You will drive past the Usher and James Town Forts, Old Accra Square and the Post Office.
Evening: Meet Tailors and dressmakers featuring casual wear and formal garments made from local fabric and textile will visit your hotel. You may purchase ready-made clothes or place orders for custom-made outfit.

Depart Accra for Akosombo in the Eastern Region. Stop enroute at Krobo-Odumase to visit the Cedi Bead Factory and workshop where beautiful African jewelry is made of clay, bones and glass. This will offer you the opportunity to see bead designing, firing, polishing and stringing. You may purchase already made beads for friends and family back home
Continue to visit the Akosombo Dam which generates electricity for Ghana and its Eastern neighbor.
Lunch in a local restaurant (on own account)
After lunch join a motorized mini boat for an idyllic cruise on the Volta River. Glide pass picturesque hamlets, local communities and fishermen engaged in their daily chores on the banks of the great river which traverses all of Ghana.

Depart Accra to Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
Continue to visit Adjeikrom Cocoa Plantation. Adjeikrom, a cocoa-growing community near Begoro in the Eastern Region was established by the late Samuel Adjei, the father of Mr. Ako Adjei, a member of Ghana’s Big Six who fought for Ghana’s Independence. The village is named after its founder, Samuel Adjei, who bought 1,800 acres of land there and began cultivating Cocoa. This will offer you the opportunity to interact with local people and experience village life. Visit a cocoa farm to experience farm work and prepare farm meal for lunch

Depart after breakfast and go on a city tour of Kumasi visiting the Manhyia Palace Museum which provides a good insight into Ashanti culture and traditions, and the history of the Ashanti Kingdom which is over 300 years old. It provides a good glimpse into the powerful ancient Ashanti Empire and its past Kings. National Cultural Centre and Prempeh II Jubilee Museum, Okomfo Anokye Sword. Drive past Kumasi Central Market, the largest open-air market in West Africa.
Lunch
Continue after lunch to visit a few Ashanti craft villages to observe craftsmen at work and to purchase souvenir gift items. Ahwiaa – the woodcarver’s village specializing in woodcarving such as the Ashanti stools, fertility dolls and walking sticks. Proceed to visit Ntonso – Adinkra cloth and tie-and-dye process where you will have an opportunity to create your own designs and Bonwire for the famous Kente cloth.

Morning at leisure in preparation to experience a renowned Ghanaian Traditional priest both Ghana and the USA.

Depart to visit Nana Abass – a traditional priest. Arrive pay courtesy and learn the process one goes through when possessed. Witness a drumming and dancing by the priest and his accolades in which you are encouraged to participate. Assin Manso               Elmina Castle

Depart Kumasi for Cape Coast in the Central Region. Drive through the forest and several farming villages. Stop en route to visit Assin Manso, burial site of the remains of the two ancestors exhumed from New York’s Wall Street and Jamaica Kingston and re-interred on the Emancipation Day 1998. Visit the “Slave River” where enslaved Africans were allowed to have their bath in preparation for auction at the nearby slave market.
Lunch at a local restaurant
After lunch visit Elmina Castle, the first and oldest European structure built of any substance on African soil. This was built by the Portuguese in1482 and later used as an auction market for a comprehensive guided tour. See the slave dungeons and condemn cells where slave who attempted to escape were incarcerated. View its utterly distinct architecture

Depart Elmina after breakfast to visit Kakum National Park. Go on a morning walk of the “Kuntan Trail” with its countless trees with medicinal properties. For the young at heart experience the “Canopy Walkway” suspended 100 feet from the forest ground for a panoramic view of the flora and fauna of the remaining vestiges of the rainforest.
Lunch
Continue to arrive in Cape Coast and visit the Cape Coast Castle which was originally started by the Swedes in 1652. It served as the headquarters and seat of the British colonial government until 1877. Go on a comprehensive tour of the Castle, the Slave Dungeons and the West African Heritage Museum. The guide will lead you to slave quarters and Negotiation Hall where our ancestors were bargained and sold.

Nzulezu

Breakfast
Depart for Nzulezu after breakfast. Arrive in Beyin and visit Nzulezo, the village on stilts, by foot and by hand-paddled Canoe. This village is built entirely on the Amansure Lake. Go on a canoe ride through the Amansure Wetlands before arriving at Nzulezo. The Wetlands is one of Ghana’s most beautiful nature preserves. It is unique in Ghana, because it comprises several wetland categories and has the only known swamp peat forest and the largest stand of intact swamp forest in Ghana. The wetlands are made up of several species of Mangrove, Wild Palm trees, reptiles, mammals and birds of global and national conservation interest.
Interact with the village folks who live on the lake. Observe village life and share experiences.
Return to Beyin by hand-paddled canoe.
